Severn Athletic Club runners had a successful weekends racing.
At the Dorney Marathon, Steve Kenyon finished second in a personal best time with Tracey Brenton achieving the qualifying time she wanted for the Chicago marathon. Tom Bell and Tom Payne both had good runs at the London Marathon.
Chris Brown finished second and first vet40 in the Cricklade 10K and five members took on the challenge of the Upcot 5 Mile Trail Run with Dan Nurse securing a top 5 and first vet40 placing and Andy Monro finishing tenth and third vet50.

Severn Athletic Club met the challenge of the winters first major championship, the Midland Counties Road Relays at Sutton Park. Comprising of six stages for the men and four for the ladies the club fielded the largest number of runners it has turned out in any event.
Club chair Dave Clarke, who co-ordinated the club’s teams was pleased, “The majority of our runners had never run in so competitive an event. It whetted their appetite for more. The ladies’ master’s team did well on their debut. We have the aim of improving next year to qualify for the National event.”
