Weekly news 25/09

Steve Kenyon won his first race in Severn Athletic Cub colours winning the Angels 10 Kilometre Road Race. He went to the front from the start along with teammate Ben Hope and Western Tempo’s John Parker and David Johnson. Hope was first to falter just before the decisive stiff uphill at 4 Kilometres. Here Kenyon forged ahead lengthening his lead to run a course PB of 33:47. Parker second, ran 34:12 and Johnson was third in 34:29. Hope rallied in the final 2 Kilometres to finish 4th in 35:22. Severn’s team was completed by club captain James Rose who ran in the chasing group placing 7th in 36:31. Western Tempo pipped Severn by one point in the team event. Team result: Western Tempo 11, Severn AC 12, Gloucester AC 39.

10000M Under the Edge: 81 Angela Wixey LV55 57:03. 168 ran.
