Severn Athletic Club’s Alex Hope was disappointed not to medal in the veterans 55-59 category at the Midland Cross-Country Championships held over a twisty, windy 7.5 mile course at Berry Hill Park, Mansfield. The top four in the age group were together at 5 miles, “I tired and slipped to fourth, 41 seconds off the lead”. Hope placed 126th overall in 48:10. His best was 25th in 1984. 279 ran.

All our members ran personal or season best times in the demanding Staverton 10 Mile road race, with novice ladies Samantha Watts and Megan Partridge pleased with their debuts at this distance.
