Weekly news 17/11

Severn AC returned to winter competition in the Birmingham Cross Country League Division 3, with the 1st fixture taking place at Coundon Park, Coventry.

Returning to the club, Harry Bishop led from the start with Keelan Hopewell(Solihull & Small Heath AC) the only other runner challenging him. Half way into the second lap Bishop started to pull clear going on to win in 33 minutes 17 seconds.

With a top ten placing, Peter Stephens came 5th in 34:28. Will Richmond finished in 23rd place in 37:20 closely followed by Chris Brown next home, 26th in 37:39. Dave Clarke(V45) secured a top 50 place finishing 44th in 39:02. Last scorer for the team, Dave Howells(V50) 59th in 40:02.

Alex Jenkins 64th in 40:27, John Withers(V55) 74th in 40:55, Adrian England(V40) 108th in 42:46 & Steve Hale(V40) 117th in 43:13 completed the Severn AC runners. 243 ran.

The team finished 4th out of a total of 22 teams with 158 points, only 7 points behind joint leaders Sphinx AC & Tamworth AC.
