Severn Athletic Club’s Will Richmond won the first open race of his two year running career leading all the way in the opening race of Severn Athletic Club’s Pilot Inn 5K Road Race series.
The course proved fast with several athletes mastering the gusty winds to run PB’s. The next race in the series will be on Wednesday 31st July with the final race on Wednesday 28th August.
Severn AC Times: 1st Will Richmond 18:09, 2nd Matt Atkins(1/V40) 18:38, 4th Dave Clarke(1/V45) 19:19, 6th Dave Howells(1/V50) 19:27(PB), 9th Alex Jenkins 19:38(PB), 10th Tim Perkins 19:51(PB), 13th Darren Ridgley(V40) 22:09(PB), 14th Kevin Probyn(V50) 22:40, 15th Greg Leyshon(1/V65) 23:06, 21st Dave Blackburn(1/V75) 32:06 & 22nd John James(2/V65) 34:25. Severn won the team race with 32 pts.
At the Boddington 10K Severn AC’s newest member Stephen Shields(3/V50) ran a PB finishing in 22nd place in 42:20. He was supported by club mates, 10th Dave Clarke(3/V40) 39:46, 21st Tim Perkin 42:16 & 34th Greg Leyshon(3/V60) 47:19.102 ran.
In the first race of the Trailmania 10K series Dave Howells finished 4th and 1st over 50 in 53:04. The series of 3 trail runs, for all ages and abilities around the beautiful heart of the Cotswolds, with views, hills, woodland trails & winding footpaths. It started in Nailsworth with the Nelly, followed by the Selsley Sizzler in mid July and finally the Cranham Beast.
