Severn Athletic Club fielded a full men’s team for the first time in over 2 years in the Gloucestershire Cross Country League. At the first race of the season at Old Down Country Park hosted by Stroud Athletic Club, there was a 4 lap 10K course for senior men & a 3 lap 7K course for the senior/vet ladies & men 65+.
Severn’s team finished 14th of the 21 teams in the Senior Category & 4th Vets team of 21 in the Masters Category.
The six Senior Men Team scorers were in 38th place Gary Hope(1V/50) in 41:26, 40th Will Richmond in 41:37, 44th Alex Hope(2V/50) in 42:06, 73rd Dave Lander(V/50) in 44:06, 101st Dave Clarke(V/45) in 44:06 & 106th Victor Marques(V/45) in 45:55. Backing up with 107th Dave Howells(V/50) 45:56, 110th Steve Hale(V/40) in 46:12 & 139th Andy Brown(3/V60) in 48:00. 208 ran.
In the Ladies/ men 65+ race first home for Severn in 57th place was Tracey Benton(LV/45) in 36:05, followed by 75th Les Davis(1/V75) 37:20, 85th Rob Cytlau(V/65) 38:43 & 91st Emma Rawlings(LV/45) 39:08. 133 ran.

Gloucester City: 7th Andy Munro(2V/45) 20:40 & 57th Sandra Brown (1LV/55) 29:22. 106 ran.
Gloucester North: 1st Peter Stephens 18:25. 92 ran.
