Severn Athletic Club’s top distance runners Chris Brown and James Rose led their team mates to a batch of PB’s at this years Cardiff Half Marathon.
Running together until mile 7 where Brown pulled away. “I felt good until around 10 miles where I started to slow and James closed some distance back on me” reported Brown. However his effort had been sufficient to maintain his advantage with him finishing in 143rd place in a time of 77 minutes and 37 seconds a 2 minute 4 second personal best. James Rose finished in 151st place in a time of 78 minutes and 7 seconds. Next up was Imran Hassanjee (v40) who improved his PB by over 11 minutes finishing in 437th place in a time of 1:26:40. Adrian England continued his improvement this year by also achieving a new PB finishing in 595th place with a time of 1:28:11. Dave Howells (v50) also achieved a new PB, which he only set a few weeks ago at the Forest of Dean Half Marathon by finishing in 1,026th place with a time of 1:30:10. Farook Mota (v45) also enjoyed birthday treat by gaining a new personal best by a few seconds finishing in 1,245th place with a time of 1:36:55.

Elsewhere good form was shown by several members prior to the winter cross country season starting in October.
At the Bournemouth Half Marathon, Richard Brown (v40) finished in 115th place with a time of 1:27:27. Andrew Brown (v60) finished in 297th place with a time of 1:34:27.
At the Chester Marathon Pratik Pradhan (v40) continued his ever improving performance at this distance by finishing in 1,209th place with a new personal best time of 3:49:49.
Finally at the Avon Valley multi terrain race, Neil Taylor finished in 12th place with a time of 45 minutes and 15 seconds.

Poole – 20th, Richard Brown (v40) – 18:52. 97th, Andrew Brown (v60) – 22:13. 365th, Sandra Brown (lv55) – 28:53
