Severn AC Runners Weekly 15th October

THIS WEEK’s – Race News

Severn Athletic Club’s James Rose is returning to form when placing 5th in the Grittleton 10K in 35:20. The race was won by Aaron Wilson of City of Salisbury Athletic & Running Club in 33:31. 452 ran.

Five of the clubs male veteran runners turned out in the first of the Gloucestershire Cross Country League fixtures at Blackbridge.Over the 8.4K senior men’s course Ian Overthrow(V50) was first of the clubs runners when 92nd in 34:42. Andy Brown(V55) was 127th in 36:20. Neil Taylor(V45) was 164th in 39:15. Two of the clubs over 65 runners opted to run in the longer senior men’s race instead of the new format shorter senior woman’s and men’s vet over 65 race. Greg Leyshon(V65) was199th in 44:34 & Rob Cytlau(V65) was 203rd in 49:42. 205 ran.

A special mention for Alex Rawlings in his first under 15 cross country race finishing second in 14:20.

Burnham: 37th Les Davis(V70) 22:50. 250 ran.

Crystal Palace: 4th Rich Brown 18:47 278 ran.

Gloucester North: 72nd Sandra Brown(LV55) 28:58.145 ran.

Kingsway: 37th Phil Reece(V50) 23:48, 114th John James(V65) 28:17. 255 ran.

I would like to introduce new member Andy Monro to the club, Andy is currently the Men’s 45 British Middle Distance orienteering champion and will be a great addition to the team.
