Severn AC Runners Weekly 8th October

Severn Athletic Club had two members on the south coast for the Bournemouth Marathon Festival. Alex Jenkins improved his Marathon PB by around one minute and was 526th of 2034 runners in 3:56:50. Alex was pleased with the time as it was pretty much what he was aiming for and conditions were warm for the time of year.
Club mate Rich Brown also ran the Half Marathon and achieved a new PB finishing 46th of 3981 in 1:24:43.
The previous day Rich joined two other family members at the Poole Parkrun. Brother Chris was 5th in 17:42 and Rich 6th in 17:55, both course PBs. Dad Andy(V55) missed his course PB by 2 seconds when 41st in 20:38. 585 ran.
At the Weston Promenade 5 mile Road Race Kevin Probyn(V45) was 219th in 38:45 & 298th John James(V65) 43:46 (best for two years). 382 ran.
Other Parkruns:
Newent: 23rd Les Davis(V70) 24:31. Grandsons Alex Rawlings(JM11-14) 1st in 18:58 & Sam Rawlings(JM11-14) 5th in 21:56. (All three running course PBs). 85 ran.
Kingsway: 40th Greg Leyshon(V65) 24:28, 49th Phil Reece(V50) 24:44 & 117th John James(V65) 27:53. 306 ran.
Gloucester North: 18th Neil Taylor(V45) 22:03. 156 ran.

UKA membership for individual athletes for the forthcoming 2018-2019 season will be increasing by £1 to £15 a year.
