This weeks Race News – 22nd October
Severn Athletic Club’s Chris Brown successfully adjusted his tactics after a disappointing Cricklade Half Marathon to run 6 minutes faster in the Stroud Half Marathon. Leading home city runners he ran a 1minute 20 second PB placing 22nd in 1:19:45. ” I was more conservative early on than two weeks ago. I passed 10 miles in a PB of 60:47 then increased my pace passing several in the closing stages”.
Brother Richard ran a PB of 1:24:21 for 44th. Dad Andy(V55) ran a seasons best of 1:31:45 when 161st. Neil Taylor(V45) ran a PB of 1:34:44 placing 320th. Severn’s other placers: 1012 Kevin Probyn(V50) 2:04:58 & 1134 John James(V65) 2:12:04. (His first half marathon for 9 years). 1476 finished.
Gloucester North Parkrun: 27th Neil Taylor(V45) 23:52. 137 ran.
Kingsway Parkrun: 5th Rich Brown 19:48, 6th Chris Brown 19:48, 21st Les Davis(V70) 23:33, 22nd Andy Brown(V55) 23:44, 48th Emma Rawlings(LV40) 25:38, 73rd Sandra Brown(LV55) 28:29 & 78th John James(V65) 28:49. 174 ran.
