Severn AC Runners Weekly 17th September
THIS WEEK’s – Race News
Severn Athletic Club’s Chris Brown produced his best performance yet in the Worcester 10K Road Race.
Attracting 2000 plus runners Brown started fast to keep ahead of the mass. “I passed 5K in 16:57 my third fastest, settled into a good pace maintaining it into the last kilometre where I passed three”. Brown was 14th in 34:42. A personal best by 22 seconds and 1 minute 22 seconds improvement on 2016. Other Severn finishers were: 84th Steve Hale 40:38, 112th Andy Brown(V55) 41:52 & 472nd Greg Leyshon(V65) 50:43. 2033 ran.
In the Cirencester 10K over a new course Severn Athletes placed: 65th Kevin Probyn(V45) 48:08 & John James(V65) 56:54. 245 ran.
Star of the weekend Parkruns was under 15 Alex Rawlings who won Lydney in 18:32. Mum Emma(LV40) ran a course PB of 24:32 in 32nd. 105 ran.
At Burnham, Alex’s grandad Les Davis(V70) placed 38th in 22:24 (course PB). 292 ran
Gloucester North: 12th Neil Taylor(V45) 22:01 & 158th Dave Blackburn(V70) 47:43. (course PB). 164 ran.
Kingsway: 46th Kevin Probyn(V45) 23:55, 65th Phil Reece(V50) 25:27, 84th John James(V65) 26:48 & 120th Akinola Kehn-Alafun 30:22. 211 ran.
In the mid week Yeovilton Road 5K John James(V65) was 150th in 26:44. 240 ran.
