
Severn Athletic Club acquitted themselves well in the County 5 Kilometre Road Race Championship held over an undulating Haresfield course based at the Beacon Hotel.
Bristol and West AC runners Jack Bancroft, first in 15:34 and Ben Robinson, second in 15:41, battled for victory well clear of the field. Stroud exile Seb Duffy(City of Stoke AC) won the battle for third, holding off Severn’s Steve Kenyon’s race long challenge. Duffy ran 16:31, Kenyon 16:41. Severn’s Archie Fox placed seventh in 17:07, a 19 second personal best.
In his first open road race, Charlie Partridge(1/MU15) ran 21:31 to finish in 54th place.
