After contracting Covid in early July, Severn Athletic Club’s Andy Monro tested his recovery by taking on the challenge of the Round Reading Ultra Multi Terrain Marathon. The 50km course circumnavigated the town of Reading, included a variety of terrain, including flat river and canal towpaths, undulating woodland trails, country lanes and paths through many urban green spaces. He finished 17th out of the 214 who ran the race.
Also regularly competing in the North Gloucestershire Orienteering League, in Race 7 at Ninewells(Forest Of Dean), he won his race in a time of 50:17 and leads the overall standings in his class.
