Severn Athletic Club’s distance runners got off to a good start in the opening race of the Hereford 5 Kilometre Road Race Series with an age group victory by Dave Howells in his first season in the 55-59 age group, five personal and several season bests.

Wave 2: 3 James Smith 2/V40 18:53 PB, 2 Jon Schofield 20:34 PB, 29 David Howells 1/V55 20:35 SB, 50 Matthew Leyshon V/40 21:34 SB, 92 Gregory Leyshon 2/V70 23:26 SB, 112 Dan Nurse V/40 24:19 & 113 Samantha Watts 5/LV40 24:20 PB. 200 ran.
Outright winner: Charles Jones(Western Tempo) 15:18.
In two of the spring time marathons three of the club’s runners also had great runs achieving PB’s.
Manchester Marathon: 1364 Dan Nurse V/40 3:01:09 PB & 1953 James Smith V/40 PB 3:11:16. 14168 ran.
Paris Marathon: 2860 Tom Bell 3:11:16 PB. 34359 ran.
