The return of the Birmingham league XC
Finishing joint 2nd place after race one as a club, is a promising start to our target of being promoted this season.
Captain James Rose lead the team home in 13th with a time of 35.34 on the 5.8 mile course at Betley Court Farm in Crewe. Just 17 seconds behind was Chris Brown in 15th, ensuring a good low score to start. Matt Hitchings finishing in 30th, Dave Clarke in 33rd, Carl Beard in 48th and James Smith finishing in 70th meant the club’s A team score begins at 209, equal with Kings Heath running club. Local Cheltenham club Western Tempo who are the favourites as Champions of the division finished in 1st place.
Good performances from Adrian England, Richard Boseley, Murco Overthrow, Alex Jenkins and Tom Payne highlighted the club’s depth, even for a fixture so far from home.
The club now look to hosting the next fixture at plock court on 4th December, where a large and strong team will be fielded to improve chances of promotion.
