Severn Athletic Club’s Alex Rawlings(18) stayed with the leaders until the 4 Kilometre mark in the second of the 3 race Hereford 5K series. The bold tactics were rewarded with a seven second personal best of 15 minutes 11 seconds and a top ten placing.
Club captain James Rose(5/V40) ran his fastest since lock-down finishing 56th in 17:16. Dave Clarke(2/V50) placed 79th in 17:49, 5 seconds off his pb set in the first race of the series. Returning to club colours Mark Keeling(5/V50) placed 110th in 18:58, just beating school mate Dave Howells(6/V50) 112th in 18:58.
Debuting for Severn, Matt Leyshon(V40) was 226th, dad Greg(4/V70) was 227th. They ran 23 minutes, their exact pre race target.
Race winner Dominic James(Western Tempo) in 14:45.
