Imran Hassanjee

Severn Athletic Club’s Imran Hassanjee (V45) has completed 3 Virtual Marathons in the space of six weeks. His 1st being the virtual London Marathon in which he finished with a time of 3:27:03, in which he ran a route around and along the Cotswold scarp. He then followed this up with the virtual Newport Marathon, in which he finished with a time of 3:28:12. Finally he completed in the Amsterdam Virtual Marathon, in which he finished in 113th place with a time of 3:29:36. This time was even more impressive as Imran ran this event on his treadmill in his garage. Local athletic statisticians wonder if this is the best treadmill time in the county. Hassanjee’s best for the marathon is 3:01:34.

Eric Blake(USA) holds the world best time of 2:21:41 on a treadmill https://www.recordholders.org/en/list/treadmill-blake.pdf with Tyler Andrews(USA) challenging his time with an as yet not verified time of 2:17:56. https://www.chaski.run/challenge.

Club Secretary Chris Brown ran in the last event before lockdown. At the Cheltenham Track 5000 Metre Time Trial he finished 6th in a time of 16:50(track PB).
