What. Severn AC are resurrecting, as a virtual one-off, one of Gloucester’s original road races. The Gloucester Carnival Challenge was a regular and favourite for runners of all abilities from 1964 – 1990. 7.5 miles of undulating, quiet country lanes, starting and finishing at Sellars Bridge, Hardwicke
Course. Start/finish is 10m past Sellars Bridge and level with the gate to the farmers field. From the start runners will head out along Haywicks Ln towards Elmore, Kenton Green and Farleys End. At Farleys End runners will keep left and merge on to Longney Rd. Past St John the Baptist Church, Hill Farm and onto Chatter St (there are no turnings, Longney Ln turns into Chatter St). At the end of Chatter St runners turn right back on to Haywicks Ln and head for the finish. Start/finish and mile markers will all be marked.

Who. All athletes of all abilities.
When. 27 July – 2 Aug 20.
Entries. Entry closes at 2359hrs on 26 July 20. Runners unable to enter via OpenTrack but wish to participate are to contact the organisers via email.
Results. Results are to be uploaded to Opentrack with a Strava or Garmin link so times can be verified. Final standings will be published on 3 Aug 20.
Rules. This is a virtual time trial. Social distancing must be maintained at all times and participants must be aware of other road users when out on the course:
- Times based on running ‘elapsed’ time.
- No digitial manipulation of GPS data.
