57th Annual Gloucester Christmas Morning 3 Mile Road Race Handicap was won by 74 year old Dave Spackman from Kingsholm. It was the fifth time Spackman had won the race. He won it first in 1977 in his first ever race whilst still a rugby player with Spartans.
Spackman had a start on all the other runners and lead from 2 miles. Second home was another Kingholm man Dave Howells whose actual time of 19 :37 established a new record for the amended course which it is hoped will remain free of road improvements in the future.
Novice Jeff Hayman(Lonely Goats) won the 51st Annual 180 Metre Sprint Handicap up Kenilworth Avenue.
