Severn Athletic Club’s long distance runners were out in full force at the Gloucester 20 in preparation for their upcoming Marathon races. Farook Mota (V45) is competing in this year’s Brighton Marathon finished in 192nd place in a time of 2:44:55. Pratik Pradhan (V40) who is competing at the Manchester Marathon finished in 262nd place with a time of 2:54:28. Imran Hassanjee continued his preparation for pacing at this year’s London Marathon by finishing in 76th place with a time of 2:22:01. After a winter struggling with injury & in preparation for the Boston Marathon in April, Tracey Brenton finished 170th & 2/LV45 in 2:42:04 in the Gloucester 20 Mile Road Race. Severn’s other team mate Barry Thomas(V45) finished with a time of 2:58:52. 454 ran.
Chris Brown again led home city runners in the monthly Weston Prom 5 Mile Race. He was seventh in 28:04, the winner was Courtenay Chessell (Swindon Shin Splints) in 26:46. Brown is aiming to achieve a podium finish in the senior man series overall, he was third in 2017-18. Dad Andy was 78th in 34:12. 228 ran.
In the New Balance English Schools Cross County Championships at Leeds, Alex Rawlings represented Gloucestershire in the Intermediate Boys race. He was 156th of the 331 runners in 18:56. Gloucestershire finished 34th of the 43 teams entered.
