Severn Athletic Club’s decathlon twins Philip & Paul Karlsson now aged 64, have decided to return to competition and target the National Veteran’s Championship at Birmingham in August. Both won medals at area level in the 1970’s and were prolific point scorers for the championship track & field teams of Gloucester Athletic Club & the early years of Severn Athletic Club.
In their first competition for fifteen years they won medals at the County Athletic Championships in the V60 category.
In the discus Philip was second in a new club age best of 30.06 metres. Paul was third with 26.40 metres. In the 100 metres Paul was second in 16.3 seconds.
In the last race of the 2017/18 nine event Weston Prom 5 mile road race series Chris Brown finished 5th and 3rd senior male in 28:38. He also secured a 3rd senior male series placing.
Adrian England was 40th in a new PB of 31:34 & Andy Brown(V60) 65th in 32:52. 270 ran.
