Severn weekly news – w/c 13/05

Chris Brown of Severn Athletic Club capped a steady 30 month improvement with his first victory in an Open Road Race. In the Bitton 5 Kilometres he was never challenged after taking the early lead, winning by 51 seconds in 16:54. Dad Andy was second vet 60, finishing 18th in 20:13 and mum Sandra(LV55) was 66th in 29:12.

At the Tewkesbury Half Marathon Chris secured a top 5 placing, finishing 4th in 1:20:22. Two other club members achieved personal bests with Victor Marques(V40) 45th in 1:32:44 and Dave Howells(V50) 48th in 1:33:17.

At the Stroud Trails Marathon Neil Taylor(V40) finished 33rd in 4:51:05.

Kingsway Parkrun: 4th Adrian England 19:08, 25th Greg Leyshon(V65) 22:08(PB), 50th George Scully(V65) 24:10, 60th Emma Rawlings(LV40) 25:04 & 185th John James(V65) 32:23.

South Norwood Parkrun: 3rd Richard Brown 18:58.

Gloucester City Parkrun: 1st Chris Brown 18:34, 10th Alex Jenkins 21:07, 11th Andy Brown(V60) 21:13, 45th Phil Reece(V50) 27:00, 71st Sandra Brown(LV55) 29:42 & 105th Dave Blackburn(V75) 37:47(club V75 Parkrun best).

Gloucester North Parkrun: 5th Dave Howells(V50) 21:17 & 30th Neil Taylor(V45) 25:16.
