THIS WEEK’s – Race News


  • At the Alderton 5K Road Race Ian Overthrow(V50) (left picture) ran an age group best when placing 5th in 18:33. Narrowly missing a first ever top ten finish Neil Taylor(V45) (right picture) ran an age group best when placing 11th in 20:26. 127 ran. Results – http://www.aldertonvillage.co.uk/5k-run-2017.html



  • At the Lydney Parkrun Les Davis continues to re-write the over 70 course record. He broke 23 minutes for the first time when finishing 21st in 22:49. Grandson Alex Rawlings(JM11-14) was  6th in 19:16 and daughter Emma(LV40) 33rd ran a course PB in 24:40. 106 ran.
  • At the Crystal Palace Parkrun, which was run over a new course Rich Brown placed 2nd in 18:59. 272 ran.
  • Kingsway Parkrun: 21st Alex Jenkins 20:40(course PB), 46th Greg Leyshon(V65) 23:10, 59th Phil Reece(V50) 23:34 & 121st John James(V65) 27:28. 253 ran.
  • Gloucester North Parkrun: 151st Dave Blackburn(V70) 48:31 (course PB). 151 ran.
  • Late Results: 26/8 Cheltenham Parkrun: 444 Dave Blackburn(V70) 44:07 (course PB).


           27/8 Severn Bridge 10K: 194th John James(V65) 60:23. 523 ran.

           27/8 Severn Bridge Half Marathon: 126th Andy Brown(V55) 1:36:54  & 712th Kevin               Probyn(V45) 2:02:54. 1496 ran.

THIS WEEK’s – Club News

The rearranged 69th Annual Tredworth 4.3 Mile Road Race will take place on Tuesday September 5th at 7 pm, Race HQ Pilot Inn Hardwicke. Defending champion is James Head(Gloucester AC). Runners must be city residents or a member of a city running club. Registrations on day.

The Aztec Fast 5K series for 2017-2018 has been cancelled due to insurance issues, I will keep you posted if anything changes.
