Stroud & District Athletic Club staged the first short course 4 Kilometre Cross-Country Race in the county since Severn Athletic Club ceased their series in 2016.A multi looped course around hilly Stratford Park presented many technical running challenges. Louis Peterson(Chiltern Harriers AC U20) won in 13 minutes 32 seconds beating Bill Legate(Cirencester AC V45) who finished in 13:43 with Finlay Hawkins(Gloucester AC U20) third in 13:58.The outstanding run of the race came from Kia Dee(Cheltenham & County Harriers LU17) finishing fourth and first lady in 14:22.Severn Athletic Club were led home by Ben Hope seventh in 15:25, making light of a course misdirection mid race. New signing Archie Fox was eighth in 15:33. Alex Hope twelfth in 16:04, won the 55-59 age group holding off late challenges by Alan Pitt(Stroud & District AC) 14th in 16:08 and Dave Cresswell(Gloucester AC) 16th in 16:11. 53 ran.
