
Severn Athletic Club joint chairman Andrew Brown said the club had a satisfactory year of growth, success & consolidation at its 2019 AGM.
The club decided that apart from the secretary and treasurer, club officials would be open to rotation annually. All club members would be invited to attend committee meetings alongside appointed members in the next year.
James Rose, vice captain for several years takes over the team captain role from Steve Hale who remains as joint chair.
Severn Athletic Club’s team finished in 3rd place in the Staverton 10 Mile Road race. Athletes James Rose and Andrew Brown were also 1st home in their respective age categories. James led the team of ten runners home when finishing 8th and 1/V40 in 59:42. Followed in by 15th Will Richmond 1:03:04, 31st Dave Clarke(V45) 1:06:18, 36th Adrian England 1:07:08, 37th Dave Howells(V50) 1:07:20, 42nd Imran Hassanjee 1:09:06, 51st Andrew Brown(1/V60) 1:10:56, 79th Farook Mota(V45) 1:16:45, 110th Victor Marques(V45) 1:25:07 & 123rd George Scully(V65) 1:28:49. 181 ran.
At the Gloucestershire Schools Cross-Country Championships at Newent school Alex Rawlings(JM15-17) won the Inter Boys race in 18:20. 28 ran. He will be competing in the South West Schools Cross-Country Championships at Lansdown Race course in Bath on 2nd February.
