Severn Athletic Club’s long distance runner Neil Taylor recently travelled to Italy to compete in the Pisa Marathon. Finishing in 600th place in a time of 3:43:43, Neil was on target for a personal best but his quads cramped up at around mile 24, slowing him down in the final 2 miles.
Last year Neil competed in 3 marathons and is the Club’s representative in this years Virgin London Marathon, with his target to finally break under 3 hours and 30 minutes.
1310 runners finished.
In the weekend Parkrun’s, Severn Athletic Club runners maintained in good competitive form for their final vital Birmingham Cross Country League Division 3 fixture on February 10th where they are in second position.
Eastville(Bristol): 20th Neil Taylor(V45) 20:35. 374 ran.
Gloucester North: 5th Andy Munro(V45) 20:40 101.ran.
Kingsway: 3rd Ian Overthrow(V50) 18:51, 10th Andy Brown(V55) 20:58, 23rd Anthony Overthrow(V45) 21:40, 96th Phil Reece(V50) 26:53 & 149th John James(V65) 30:01. 254 ran.
At the recent GlosAAA Road Race Series 2017 awards ceremony Severn Athletic Club members Greg Leyshon(V65) Silver & Andy Brown(V55) Bronze were awarded their medals.
