Severn AC Runners Weekly 1st October

Chris Brown of Severn Athletic Club started well in the Cricklade Half Marathon only to slow in the closing stages when placing 14th in 1:25:04. Andy Brown(V55) ran a year’s best of 1:33:46 for 45th. There were 328 runners.
In the crowded (3094 runners) Cheltenham Half Marathon Neil Taylor(V45) was 235th in 1:36:38. This was an improvement on his time in the Forest Of Dean Trails Half Marathon a week ago where he was 82nd in 1:38:17. 744 ran.
Les Davis continues to set age 70-74 records. In the Apperley Quarter Marathon he ran 50:17 for 59th. Grandson Alex(JM10-15) was 6th in 41:30. Daughter Emma(LV40) was 96th in 53:50, just beating clubmate Greg Leyshon(V65) who was 57th in 53:51.
In the Newent Parkrun Davis added another V70 course best when 15th in 24:32. Grandson Alex Rawlings(JM10-15) was first in 19:32. Emma Rawlings(LV40) was 29th in 26:15. 77 ran.

Kingsway: 3rd Ian Overthrow(V50) 18:40, 42nd Kevin Probyn(V65) 23:50 & 45th Greg Leyshon(V65) 24:31. 227 ran.
South Norwood: 7th Rich Brown 18:47. 93 ran.
Gloucester North: 23rd Andy Brown(V55) 22:53 & 64th Sandra Brown(LV55) 28:25 (course PB). 146 ran.
