Severn AC Runners Weekly 20th August
THIS WEEK’s Race News
Two of Severn Athletic Club’s current leading runners ran well in recent races.
Over 50 veteran Ian Overthrow won his age group and took his first medal position in an open race. He placed second in 44:11 in the MT Cranham Boundary Chase 10K. The race first ran in 1962 was won by Mike Price still regarded as Gloucester’s finest distance runner.

Chris Brown was leading city runner in the quality Rose Inn 4 mile race at Magor, placing 18th in 22:34. Improving his PB from 23:49.
At the Lydney Parkrun 5K over 70 veteran Les Davis continues to run fast times when placing 25th in 23:19. Daughter Emma(LV40) 37th, ran a course PB in 24:43. Eldest grandson Alex(JM 11-14) 2nd, ran a course PB in 18:08. Younger grandson Sam(JM 11-14) placing 7th in a course PB 20:55. 101 ran.

Crystal Palace: 6th Rich Brown 19:25. 228 ran.
Kingsway: 39th Alex Jenkins 23:04, 42nd Kevin Probyn(V45) 23:12, 43rd Greg Leyshon(V65) 23:14 & 107th John James(V65) 27:35. 223 ran.
Gloucester North: 10th Neil Taylor(V45) 21:12, 11th Andy Brown(V55) 21:44, 63rd Sandra Brown(LV55) 28:59 & 124th Dave Blackburn(V70) 49:07 (course PB). 126 ran
