Race News

Akinola Kehn-Alafun competed at the MCAA Birmingham Indoor open meeting on the 19th of March in the 100 & 60 metres. He was first in his heat in the 100m in 12.75 and ran 8.04 in his 60m heat. (An improvement from 8.08 in January).

Richard Brown competing in his 1st Weston Prom 5 mile race on the 23rd, achieved a very respectful time finishing 25th place in 30:04. His brother Chris finished 5th, his highest placing this series in a time of 28:41 and finally Andrew Brown finished 97th in 34:10. All very respectful times in windy conditions on the prom front. 332 ran.

At the Kingsway Parkrun 5K on the 25th of March Chris Brown followed up Thursday’s race coming first in 17:28, a new PB on the summer course.

Other Severn runners all produced personal or near personal bests on the summer course.

5th Richard Brown 18:18 (pb), 17th Andy Brown(V55) 20:41, 38th Kevin Probyn(V45) 22:33(pb), 54th George Scully(V65) 23:53, 119th John James(V65) 27:59 (year’s best), 131st Sandra Brown(LV55) 29:01 (season’s best). 272 ran.

Club News

We are currently in design stages of some new club technical t-shirt, as soon as I have some designs I will send these out via e-mail. We should then also have some more club vests made as we are low on stock in some sizes.

We have been offered a place in this years Birmingham XC league fixture for the set affiliation fee of £125 which is payable by the end of April.
