The Midland Counties Road Relays took place at Sutton Park, Sutton Coldfield on Saturday 29th March 2025. The Midland 12 & 6 Stage Road Relays event comprises 12 and 6 stage 5k relay races for men and women respectively. Severn AC fielded both a male & female team with the men’s team finishing 41st out of 59 teams and the ladies team finishing 22nd out of 66 teams. Sunday 30th March saw the return of the Gloucester 10k and Half Marathon with both routes following a scenic route around the pedestrianised city centre before heading out towards Hempstead with the 10k turning back along the canal and the half marathon carrying on out through Quedgeley and into Elmore before coming back into Gloucester along the Sharpness Canal path. In the 10k, Chris Nicholls ran a course personal best with a time of 39.04 and Angela Wixey finished first FV60 in 48.32. In the half marathon, Steve Kenyon was first home for the team with a superb time of 1.13.43 which was a pleasing run for him and saw him sub 74 minutes again, a feat last achieved in 2023. Archie Fox was second home in 1.14.28 which was a big personal best over the distance and a very pleasing performance as he was originally aiming for the 75 minute mark. Alice Tredgett also had a fantastic run and finished as second lady overall with a time of 1.26.23. All three Severn AC members can take great confidence from these results leading into their full marathons at the end of April in just under 4 weeks time.
