Hereford 5k Series – Race 1

Race 1 of the Hereford 5k Series took place on Wednesday 2nd April 2025 with several Severn members taking part. In the Wave 1 race Archie Fox was first home for the team in 4th place with a time of 16.07 which was a personal best time over the 5k distance and actually saw him record the fastest second lap of the evening. Chris Brown was second home in 17.16 in 16th place and second MV40 and Andy Monro was third home in 35th position and second MV55 in 18.27. Alice Tredgett was first female home for Severn in 57th position with a time of 19.36 which was her first sub 20 minute 5k post injury which is another big confidence boost after a successful run at Gloucester Half a couple of days beforehand. In Wave 2 Natalie Cranfield was first home for Severn in 20.02 and was first FV35. Clare Thompson was back racing in Severn colours and finished with a time of 21.40 and was second FV35. Tom Payne finished in 22.45 which was a pleasing run for him as he was aiming for a sub 23 minute 5k, paced round by team mate James Smith. Finally, Sophie Collier was also back racing in Severn colours again and finished with a time of 26.45 which is a good starting point for her as she looks to improve on over the series.
